SERGEY PALCHE

SERGEY PALCHE
I am interested neither in the representation of an organism nor in a metaphor for life. I am interested in the conditions under which a form becomes so coherent that its further development is determined by the form itself.
Form Beyond Origin

When origin ceases to be the determining cause, form unfolds according to its own internal logic.

Born to exist beyond time and captured through expressive movement, these forms are bound together by delicate threads of space. They evoke our deepest and most hidden emotions.

As long as the hand is moving, there is only action. Once the action has ended, the trace begins to follow its own logic. Entering into relationships with other traces, it gives rise to form.

For me, gesture is neither a way of expressing an inner state nor a trace of the hand’s movement. It is a minimal action capable of altering matter. Through repetition, gesture ceases to belong to the artist and begins to enter into relationships with other gestures. Form emerges precisely through these relationships. I am interested not in the expressiveness of gesture, but in the moment when it acquires its own internal logic and begins to exist as an autonomous organism.

«I investigate the behavior of gesture within a constrained system. Gesture does not repeat itself—it gradually transforms its own nature until it becomes an autonomous organism governed by its own internal logic.»

«When origin ceases to be the cause. Form emerges from gesture, but no longer depends on it for its existence.»

«Art is a means of collision of one world with another, a collision of the artist’s world, his entire real experience, with the worldview and experience of other people, his viewers.»
